Penguins draft forward Cooper Foster in 6th round

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In the sixth round of the NHL Draft at Bridgestone Arena, the Pittsburgh Penguins picked forward Cooper Foster with the 174th overall selection

A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Foster spent last season with the Ottawa 67s of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Appearing in 63 games, Foster scored 36 points (19 goals, 17 assists).

The left-handed shot is listed at 5-foot-11, 172 pounds.

Barring any further transactions, the Penguins are currently scheduled to have two more picks in the ongoing draft.

Seventh round: No. 217 (from Toronto Maple Leafs)

Seventh round: No. 223 (from Florida Panthers)
