Penguins draft forward Emil Jarventie in 7th round

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Pittsburgh Penguins selected forward Emil Jarventie in the seventh round of the NHL Draft No. 217 overall.

A native of Finland, Jarventie bounced around several teams and leagues in his native country last season.

Primarily playing for Ilves at the junior level, Jarventie, a left-handed shot, appeared in 21 games and scored 19 points (10 goals, nine assists).

He is listed as 5-foot-10, 167 pounds.

Barring any further transactions, the Penguins have one remaining pick in this draft, No. 223 overall in the seventh round.
