Pittsburgh Penguins forward Cody Glass was diagnosed with a concussion and will be sidelined indefinitely.
Coach Mike Sullivan announced Glass’ status following a practice in Cranberry on Sunday.
Glass was injured during a 5-1 road loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday. He did not record a shift beyond the 19:00 mark of the first period.
In 14 games this season, Glass has recorded four assists while averaging 11:48 of ice time. He was designated to injured reserve on Friday prior to a 4-2 road win against the Washington Capitals.
Also sidelined is forward Kevin Hayes. Per Sullivan, Hayes will be absent on a week-to-week basis due to an undisclosed injury.
Hobbled during a 4-3 shootout road loss to the New York Islanders on Tuesday, Hayes did not log a shift beyond the 12:08 mark of the third period in that contest. He has been scratched in the past two games.
Appearing in 14 games this season, Hayes has scored four points (three goals, one assist) while clocking an average of 9:27 of ice time per contest.
Notes:
• Tristan Jarry was present for the team’s practice on Sunday but appeared to get the third-most reps during the session. Rookie Joel Blomqvist worked in his own net for the duration of practice while Jarry and Alex Nedeljkovic split the other net, with Nedeljkovic getting the bulk of work in that dynamic.
Sullivan was short on specifics on how all three goaltenders would be used in the immediate future but suggested the trio would remain on the NHL roster for the time being.
“We’ll put together a game plan where we keep these guys all in the mix,” Sullivan said.

• The power-play groups had considerably different looks. Most notably, the top unit involved four forwards and one defenseman. To open the season, the Penguins used three forwards and two defensemen with that squad.
Crosby, Karlsson, Malkin, Rakell and Rust composed the top unit. Beauvillier, Bunting, Grzelcyk, Letang and Puljujarvi made up the second group.
