Penguins forward Philip Tomasino a 'game-time decision' against Bruins
Pittsburgh Penguins forward Filip Tomasino has been labeled as a “game-time decision” for Sunday’s home contest against the Boston Bruins at PPG Paints Arena.
Coach Mike Sullivan declared Tomasino’s status approximately two hours before the opening faceoff.
A concussion has sidelined Tomasino for the previous three games.
In 59 games this season, Tomasino has scored 21 points (10 goals, 21 assists) while averaging 13:04 of ice time per contest.
Notes:
• Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry is scheduled to start the contest. In 35 games this season, Jarry has a 16-11-6 record, a 3.12 goals against average, an .893 save percentage and two shutouts.
Throughout his career, Jarry has faced the Bruins in 16 games and has posted a 4-7-1 record, a 3.10 goals against average, a .908 save percentage and one shutout.
• Per Sullivan, injured defenseman P.O Joseph skated in the morning. Currently designated to injured reserve, Joseph has missed the past 18 games due to an undisclosed ailment.
Sullivan indicated no decision has been made regarding Joseph’s availability for the regular season finale, a home contest against the Washington Capitals on Thursday.
• Bruins goaltender goaltender Joonas Korpisalo is scheduled to start. In 26 games this season, Korpisalo has a 10-10-3 record, a 2.98 goals against average and an .891 save percentage.
Throughout his career, Korpisalo has faced the Penguins in 10 contests and has posted a 4-5-1 record, a 2.70 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.
• The opening faceoff for this game is scheduled for 3:52 p.m.
