Forward Emil Jarventie was a seventh-round draft pick (No. 217 overall) of the Penguins in 2023.

Pittsburgh Penguins forward prospect Emil Jarventie has been loaned to Pyry of the Mestis, the second-tier league in Finland.

A left-handed shot, the Finnish-born Jarventie (5-foot-10, 168 pounds) is currently under contract to Tappara of the Liiga, the top-tier league in that country.

Tappara announced the transaction via a release on Tuesday.

Undisclosed injuries largely sabotaged Jarventie’s 2024-25 season as he was limited to 16 games, eight with Tappara’s Liiga squad and eight with Tappara’s junior-level team.

The 20-year-old Jarventie was a seventh-round draft pick (No. 217 overall) of the Penguins in 2023 but has not yet signed an NHL contract with the club. The Penguins hold his NHL rights until June 1, 2027.
