The Penguins have assigned forward Radim Zohorna to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL).

In 12 NHL games this season, Zohorna has three points (one goal, two assists) while averaging 11:10 of ice time per contest. For the past three games, Zohorna has primarily been deployed on the left wing of the third line.

He has also appeared in 31 AHL games this season and scored 15 points (seven goals, eight assists).

Such a transaction could just be procedural. In order for players to be eligible for the AHL postseason, they must be assigned to the an AHL affiliate’s roster by 3 p.m. Monday.

Follow the Penguins all season long.
