Penguins forward Teddy Blueger has not played since March 15 due to an undisclosed injury.

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Teddy Blueger will miss Thursday’s road game against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden because of an undisclosed injury.

Blueger, who regularly has been skating in full capacity during practices as of late, will miss his 12th consecutive game. Coach Mike Sullivan indicated Blueger “continues to progress with the activity on the ice, but he has not been cleared to play at this point.”

Currently on injured reserve, Blueger was initially injured during a 4-1 home win against the Boston Bruins at PPG Paints Arena on March 15.

In 28 games this season, Blueger has 15 points (four goals, 11 assists).

Notes:

• Coach Mike Sullivan announced goaltender Tristan Jarry will start against the Rangers. After missing two games with an undisclosed injury, Jarry had a rough outing against the Rangers during Tuesday’s 8-4 road loss. After allowing four goals on 11 shots, he was pulled at the start of the second period in favor of backup goaltender Casey DeSmith.

In 26 games this season, Jarry has a 15-8-2 record, a 2.91 goals against average and .905 save percentage.

• Defenseman John Marino will be available for Tuesday’s game according to Sullivan. Marino did not play the final 11 minutes, 36 seconds of Tuesday’s game after he was tripped and fell on his face.

In 35 games this season, Marino has seven points (two goals, five assists).

• Sullivan revealed rookie forward Anthony Angello is in Pittsburgh being treated for an undisclosed injury.

Currently assigned to the taxi squad, Angello has appeared in 19 games this season and has four points (two goals, two assists).

• The Rangers are expected to start goaltender Igor Shesterkin. In 21 games this season, Shesterkin has a 10-8-2 record, a 2.36 goals against average and .924 save percentage.
