In three games this season, Penguins goaltender Arturs Silovs has a 2-1-0 record.

Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Arturs Silovs is scheduled to start Tuesday’s game against his former team, the Vancouver Canucks, at PPG Paints Arena.

Coach Dan Muse announced Silovs’ status following an optional morning skate in Cranberry. To this point of the season, the Penguins have alternated every start in net between Silovs and Tristan Jarry.

In three games this season, Silovs, a rookie, has a 2-1-0 record, a 2.67 goals against average, a .908 save percentage and one shutout.

The Penguins acquired Silovs in a trade with the Vancouver Canucks on July 13 in exchange for forward prospect Chase Stillman and a fourth-round draft pick in 2027.

Due to a logjam at the position and Silovs requiring exposure to waivers in order to be assigned to a minor league affiliate, the Canucks opted to deal him to the Penguins in exchange for some assets instead of potentially losing him for nothing.

Over parts of three seasons with the Canucks, Silovs appeared in 19 games and posted an 8-8-2 record, a 3.07 goals against average, an .884 save percentage and one shutout.

Notes:

• Those attending the Penguins’ morning skate included:

Forwards – Filip Hallander, Ben Kindel, Blake Lizotte, Tommy Novak, Philip Tomasino

Defensemen - Harrison Brunicke, Connor Clifton, Matt Dumba, Caleb Jones, Ryan Shea

Goaltenders – Tristan Jarry, Silovs

• Penguins defenseman Kris Letang has 698 career assists.

• Of that group, Dumba, Clifton and Tomasino were the final players off the ice, suggesting they will be healthy scratches.

• Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen is expected to start in net.

Lankinen has played in two contests this season and posted a 1-1-0 record, a 2.91 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.

• Per Canadian broadcaster Sportsnet, the Canucks’ lines and pairings during a full morning skate at PPG Paints Arena were:

74 Jake DeBrusk – 40 Elias Pettersson – 8 Conor Garland

13 Arshdeep Bains – 63 Sasson – 94 Linus Karlsson

91 Evander Kane – 54 Aatu Raty – 44 Kiefer Sherwood

18 Drew O’Connor – 88 Nils Aman – 14 Joseph Labate

43 Quinn Hughes – 17 Filip Hornek

28 Marcus Pettersson – 57 Tyler Myers

25 Elias Pettersson – 7 P.O Joseph

• Joseph, O’Connor and Pettersson are slated to play the Penguins for the first time since leaving the team earlier this calendar year.

O’Connor and Pettersson were dealt to the Canucks in a trade Feb. 1 that brought forwards Melvin Fernstrom and Danton Heinen, along with defenseman Vincent Desharnais and a first-round selection in this year’s draft to the Penguins. Joseph left the Penguins as a free agent this past offseason.

• Former Penguins forward Teddy Blueger is not expected to play due to an undisclosed injury.

• Myers has 298 career assists.

• The scheduled referees are Brandon Blandina (No. 39) and T.J. Luxmore (No. 21), while C.J. Murray (No. 68) and Kyle Flemington (55) will be the linesmen. Murray is a native of Upper St. Clair.
