Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry scheduled to face Flyers
The Pittsburgh Penguins are scheduled to start goaltender Tristan Jarry in Sunday’s home game against the rival Philadelphia Flyers at PPG Paints Arena.
Coach Mike Sullivan announced Jarry’s status approximately two hours before the start of the contest.
In 37 games this season, Jarry has a 15-17-4 record, a 2.46 goals against average, a .916 save percentage and a league-best six shutouts.
Throughout his career, Jarry has faced the Flyers in 17 contests and posted a 10-4-2 record, a 2.86 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.
Notes:
• Forward Emil Bemstrom (pronounced eh-MIHL, BEHM-struhm) is expected to make his Penguins debut after being acquired in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets. In 32 games this season, Bemstrom has 11 points (five goals, six assists) while averaging 12:55 of ice time per contest.
• On Sunday morning, the Flyers recalled forward Olle Lycksell from Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League.
• Goaltender Cal Petersen is scheduled to start for the Flyers. In four games this season, Petersen has a 2-1-0 record, a 3.00 goals against average and an .890 save percentage.
Throughout his career, Petersen has faced the Penguins in three games and has a 2-1-0 record, a 3.01 goals against average and a .901 save percentage.
• Flyers forward Joel Farabee has 98 career assists.
• With Sunday’s game being staged on Sunday afternoon, neither team held a morning skate.
• While the NHL has the game listed as starting at 3:30 p.m., the opening faceoff is scheduled to take place at 3:52 p.m.
