Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry to start against Predators
The Pittsburgh Penguins are scheduled to start goaltender Tristan Jarry for Thursday’s home game against the Nashville Predators at PPG Paints Arena.
Coach Mike Sullivan announced Jarry’s status following a morning skate.
In 40 games this season, Jarry has a 21-10-6 record, a 2.98 goals against average, a .908 save percentage and one shutout.
This will be his first start since he directed the team to a 5-2 road win against the Colorado Avalanche by making 28 saves on 30 shots on March 22.
Jarry suffered an undisclosed injury — presumably during that contest — and as a result, backup goaltender Casey DeSmith has started the past three games.
In the first meeting of the season between the Penguins and Predators, Jarry earned a 3-1 road win Feb. 28 by making 24 saves on 25 shots.
Jarry has played in 199 career games.
