Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry to start preseason finale against Sabres

In 36 games last season, Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry had a 16-12-6 record.

Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry is scheduled to start his team’s preseason finale, a home contest against the Buffalo Sabres at PPG Paints Arena on Friday.

According to coach Dan Muse, Jarry is slated to split the contest with prospect Sergei Murashov.

Jarry has appeared in two games this preseason and has a 1-0-0 record, a 1.96 goals against average and a .914 save percentage.

Murashov has played in two preseason contests and posted a 1-0-1 record, a 1.60 goals against average and a .939 save percentage.

• The Penguins staged an optional morning skate. Those who participated included:

Forwards — Justin Brazeau, Connor Dewar, Filip Hallander, Avery Hayes, Ben Kindel, Ville Koivunen, Blake Lizotte, Evgeni Malkin, Tommy Novak, Philip Tomasino

Defensemen — Harrison Brunicke, Mathew Dumba, Ryan Graves, Ryan Shea

Goaltenders — Jarry, Murashov

• The Penguins enter the contest with a 4-1-1 record.

• The Sabres announced the group of players they are scheduled to send to Pittsburgh:
