Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry to start preseason game against Red Wings
Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry is scheduled to start Friday’s preseason home game against the Detroit Red Wings at PPG Paints Arena.
This will be Jarry’s first action of the preseason.
Per coach Dan Muse, Jarry is slated to split the game with Arturs Silovs.
Last season, Jarry appeared in 36 games and had a 16-12-6 record, a 3.12 goals against average, an .892 save percentage and two shutouts.
Silovs will be making his second appearance this preseason. During a 4-1 road loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday, Silovs stopped 12 of 14 shots over 29:36 of ice time.
As a member of the Vancouver Canucks last season, Silovs appeared in 10 contests and posted a 2-6-1 record, a 3.65 goals against average and an .861 save percentage.

• Forward Noel Acciari participated in the morning skate wearing a regular jersey, signaling full contact. He has been sidelined since camp opened Sept. 18 due to a core muscle injury.
• Goaltender Joel Blomqvist will be sidelined a minimum of four weeks due to an undisclosed injury.
