Penguins' Kris Letang selected as captain for All-Star Game event

In 37 games this season, Penguins defenseman Kris Letang has 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists).

Penguins defenseman Kris Letang will serve as captain for the Metropoitan Division in the NHL’s All-Star Game event later this month.

The exhibition, which is involves a skills competition and a three-on-three tournament of three games between the NHL’s four divisions, will be held Jan. 24-25 at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.

Letang was selected as an injury replacement for forward Jake Guentzel, currently sidelined due to a right shoulder ailment. It marked the sixth time Letang has been selected.

In 37 games this season, Letang has 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists).

He will be joined for the exhibition by goaltender Tristan Jarry.
