Penguins’ Jake Guentzel moves the puck down ice during the game against the Montreal Canadiens at PPG Paints Arena on Dec. 10, 2019.

It’s our weekly Pittsburgh Penguins podcast with TribLive beat writer Seth Rorabaugh.

Lots to get into here, after a rotten second period spoiled Tuesday night’s game against the Montreal Canadiens. We get into why it happened and who was at fault.

Tristan Jarry wasn’t quite as sharp in goal as he had been recently, but Seth seems to think he’ll be fine. That said, Thursday night’s contest against Columbus will likely be a Matt Murray game. We talk about where his play is as well.

Speaking of the Blue Jackets, they aren’t the team they once were. With just 28 points, John Tortorella’s crew is seventh in the Metropolitan Division. The Jackets won their last contest against the Washington Capitals 5-2. Before that, though, they had lost four in a row dating back to their previous game against the Pens — another 5-2 win for Columbus.

We talk about what it would take for the Penguins to turn that around.

Also, we look at some struggles for Kris Letang, the team’s inability to draw penalties, and moose antlers versus duck masks.
