Oft-injured Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry is out again.

Speaking with media that traveled to Dallas for the team’s game against the Stars at American Airlines Center on Thursday, Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said Jarry is sidelined due to an undisclosed injury. No time frame for recovery was offered.

Sullivan said Casey DeSmith would stars against the Stars on Thursday night.

Earlier Thursday, the Penguins recalled goaltender Dustin Tokarski and forward Filip Hallander from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League under emergency conditions. Shortly after 9 p.m., Hallander was reassigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Jarry was coming off a 28-save performance in a 5-2 Penguins victory over Colorado on Wednesday night.

In his last start, DeSmith made 31 saves in a 5-1 Penguins victory over Philadelphia on March 11. He subsequently made relief appearances against Montreal and the Rangers, stopping 18 of 21 shots.

This marks Hallander’s second recall to the NHL level this season. Summoned from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in November, Hallander has played in two NHL games this season and has no points while averaging 9:58 of ice time.

With Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Hallander has appeared in 40 AHL games and has 33 points (six goals, 18 assists).

As for Tokarski, this marks the fourth occasion he has been recalled to the NHL roster. Appearing in four NHL game this season, Tokarski has a 1-2-0 record, a 3.44 goals against average and an .897 save percentage.

With Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Tokarski has played in 29 AHL games and has a 12-11-5 record, a 2.47 goals against average, a .917 save percentage and one shutout.
