The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled forward Avery Hayes from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL) on Sunday.

This marks the second time this season Hayes has been summoned to the NHL roster.

Previously, he was recalled Feb. 5. That same day, he made his NHL debut and scored two goals in a 5-2 road win against the Buffalo Sabres.

One day later, Hayes (5-foot-19, 180 pounds) was returned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

At the AHL level this season, the 23-year-old Hayes has 30 points (19 goals, 11 assists) in 36 games. He has been prolific as of late with 10 goals in his past 10 games.

Hayes, a right-handed shot, is in the first year of a two-year entry-level contract with a salary cap hit of $830,000.
