Penguins recall forward Radim Zohorna from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled forward Radim Zohorna from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

This marks the fourth occasion this season Zohorna has been summoned to the NHL roster. In eight NHL games this season, Zohorna has two points (one goal, one assists) while averaging 11 minutes, 57 seconds of ice time.

With Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Zohorna has appeared in 31 games and has scored 15 points (seven goals, eight assists).

At 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds, the 25-year-old Zohorna is one of the biggest players in the organization.

In a corresponding transaction, rookie forward Valtteri Puustinen was assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton one day after making his NHL debut.

During Friday’s 5-2 home win against the Vegas Golden Knights, Puustinen recorded an assist, one shot and 10:14 of ice time on 10 shifts. He initially was recalled to the NHL roster Thursday.

A native of Finland, the 21-year-old Puustinen is in the midst of his first season in North America. With Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, he is that team’s leading scorer with 34 points (17 goals, 17 assists) in 51 games.
