In four games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, goaltender Tristan Jarry has a 4-1-0 record.

The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled goaltender Tristan Jarry from a conditioning assignment with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League on Saturday.

Initially deployed to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Oct. 26, Jarry appeared in five AHL games during the assignment and posted a 4-1-0 record, a 2.16 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage.

Entering the season as the NHL club’s top goaltender, Jarry has appeared in three contests with the Pittsburgh Penguins and had a 1-1-0 record, a 5.47 goals-against average and .836 save percentage.

Also on Saturday, the Penguins assigned forward Matt Nieto to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for conditioning purposes.

Conditioning assignments cannot last longer than two weeks.

Currently designated to long-term injured reserve, Nieto has not appeared in a game since Nov. 30, 2023, because of various knee injuries.

On Jan. 4, the team announced Nieto underwent surgery on his right knee and would be facing a recovery timeframe of six weeks.

Ultimately, Nieto never rejoined the Penguins lineup during the 2023-24 season and by May 2, he underwent reconstructive MCL surgery on his left knee. A timeframe of six to seven months for recovery was announced by the team.
