The Pittsburgh Penguins are scheduled to start goaltender Tristan Jarry for Wednesday’s home game against the Florida Panthers at PPG Paints Arena.
Coach Mike Sullivan announced Jarry’s status following an optional morning skate.
In 34 games this season, Jarry has a 14-15-4 record, a 2.44 goals against average, a .916 save percentage and a league-best six shutouts.
Throughout this career, Jarry has played the Panthers in seven contests and posted a 3-3-0 record and a 2.93 goals against average.
Notes:
• The Penguins will be dressing an irregular lineup with 11 forwards and seven defensemen.
At the moment, the NHL roster is limited to 11 healthy forwards as Noel Acciari and Jansen Harkins are each designated to injured reserve due to concussions. Additionally, forward Matt Nieto remains designated to long-term injured reserve due to a right knee injury which has sidelined him since Dec. 2.
According to Cap Friendly, the Penguins only have $175,000 of salary cap space, well below a league-minimum contract of $775,000. With such little salary cap space, the team cannot make any recalls from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

The Panthers are expected to start goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky. In 38games this season, Bobrovsky has a 25-10-2 record, a 2.43 goals against average, a .913 save percentage and three shutouts.
Throughout his career, Bobrovsky has played the Penguins in 34 games and has an 18-10-6 record, a 2.70 goals against average and a .914 save percentage.
