MONTREAL — With their first pick of the second day of the NHL Draft, the Penguins selected Russian goaltender Sergei Murashov with the 118th overall selection in the fourth round.

Murashov, 18, appeared in 41 games for Loko-76 Yaroslavl of Russia’s top junior league, the Molodyozhnaya Hokkeinaya Liga (MHL), last season and had a 21-16-3 record, a 2.49 goals against average, a .927 save percentage and six shutouts.

Something of a rarity as a right-catching goaltender, Murashov is listed at 6-foot and 168 pounds.
