Forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard was a seventh-round draft pick (No. 201 overall) of the Montreal Canadiens in 2019.

The Pittsburgh Penguins signed forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard to a one-year, two-way contract that carries a salary cap hit of $775,000.

A native of Saguenay, Quebec, Harvey-Pinard has spent the first five years of his professional career with the Montreal Canadiens organization after being a seventh-round draft pick (No. 201 overall) by that team in 2019.

The 26-year-old Harvey-Pinard spent the majority of the 2024-25 season at the American Hockey League level with the Laval Rocket. In 40 games with that team, he scored 19 points (five goals, 14 assists).

He also appeared in one NHL contest last season. He did not record a point during 8:54 of ice time on 11 shifts.

In parts of four NHL seasons, the left-handed Harvey-Pinard (5-foot-9, 181 pounds) has appeared in 84 games and scored 31 points (17 goals, 14 assists) while averaging 14:28 of ice time per contest.

Harvey-Pinard just completed a two-year contract with a salary cap hit of $1.1 million. He was scheduled to become a restricted free agent on Tuesday, but the Canadiens declined to extend a qualifying offer, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent.
