Penguins sign former Ducks, Devils forward Stefan Noesen

The Penguins have signed former Anaheim Ducks and New Jersey Devils forward Stefan Noesen to a one-year, two-way contract worth a prorated $700,000.

Noesen, 26, was previously signed to an American Hockey League contract. In 22 games this season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Noesen led the team with 14 goals and 22 points.

A native of Plano, Texas, Noesen (6-foot-2, 205 pounds) was a first-round pick in 2011 (No. 21 overall) of the Ottawa Senators. In 159 career NHL games, he has 45 points (24 goals, 21 assists).

Last season, he appeared in 41 games for the Devils and scored eight points (three goals, five assists).

He will report to the NHL Penguins immediately.

Prior to signing Noesen, the Penguins placed forward Joseph Blandisi on waivers.
