The Penguins have signed forward Sam Poulin, the team’s first-round pick in this-year’s draft, to a three-year entry-level contract.

Selected No. 21 overall, Poulin is expected to be returned to the Sherbrooke Phoenix of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League this season. In 67 games with Sherbrooke during the 2018-19 campaign, Poulin was the team’s leading scorer with 67 points (29 goals, 47 assists).

Poulin, 18, has appeared in two preseason games with the Penguins and has no points.
