Penguins to hold development camp July 1-3
The Pittsburgh Penguins will hold their development camp for prospects July 1-3 at the team’s facility in Cranberry.
A total of 23 players are scheduled to attend. Players the team selects in next week’s draft are expected to be invited as well.
Currently, the roster includes:
Forwards (12): Raivis Ansons, Tristan Broz, Luke Devlin, Jordan Frasca, Ty Glover, Jagger Joshua, Zam Plante, Sam Poulin, Brayden Schuurman, Lukas Svejkovsky, Evan Veirling, Chase Yoder
Defensemen (7): Isaac Belliveau, Nolan Collins, Daniel Laatsch, Justin Lee, Thimo Nickl, Owen Pickering, Carter Schade
Goaltenders (4): Joel Blomqvist, Owen Flores, Taylor Gauthier, Michael Simpson
Per a release from the team, Ansons is listed with an undisclosed injury.
Ansons, Belliveau, Blomqvist, Broz, Collins, Devlin, Laatsch, Pickering, Plante, Poulin, Svejkovsky and Yoder were drafted by the Penguins.
Frasca, Gauthier and Glover were undrafted free agents who are under contract to the Penguins.
Nickl was a fourth-round draft pick (N0. 104 overall) by the Anaheim Ducks, and his NHL rights were traded to the Penguins on March 31.
Joshua, Lee and Vierling are signed to American Hockey League contracts with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Flores, Schade, Schuurman and Simpson are attending camp as free agents.
Schade, 20, is a native of nearby Mars and is entering his sophomore season at Penn State. He is a product of the Penguins Elite youth program.
All three days of the camp are open to the public.
