The Penguins have agreed to re-sign arguably their most versatile player.

Forward Evan Rodrigues has agreed to a one-year deal worth $1 million.

Capable of playing all three forward positions, Rodrigues did just that throughout the 2020-21 season as the Penguins dealt with injuries and other absences to their forward ranks through a pandemic-condensed campaign.

In 35 games last season, Rodrigues (5-foot-11, 184 pounds) scored 14 points (seven goals, seven assists).

The right-handed Rodrigues, 28, just completed a one-year contract with a salary cap hit for the league minimum $700,000.
