Penguins to start goaltender Tristan Jarry against Hurricanes
The Penguins are slated to start goaltender Tristan Jarry in Sunday’s home game against the Carolina Hurricanes at PPG Paints Arena.
In 46 games this season, Jarry has a 28-12-6 record, a 2.33 goals against average, a .921 save percentage and four shutouts.
Jarry has played the Hurricanes in one game this season. During a 4-3 home loss on Feb. 20, Jarry made 26 saves on 30 shots.
Notes:
• Penguins forward Kasperi Kapanen has played in 299 career games.
• The Hurricanes are expected to start goaltender Antti Raanta. In 17 games this season, Raanta has a 10-3-2 record, a 2.31 goals against average, a .918 save percentage and two shutouts.
This will be the third time this season Raanta has played the Penguins. In his previous two meetings, he has a 2-0-0 record, a 2.43 goals against average and .914 save percentage.
• The Penguins have yet to face Hurricanes starting goaltender Frederik Andersen this season.
• Unofficially, the game will start at 1:25 p.m. despite largely being advertised as beginning at 1 p.m.
