The Penguins are slated to start goaltender Tristan Jarry for Sunday’s home game against the Los Angeles Kings at PPG Paints Arena.
In 35 games this season, Jarry has has a 23-7-5 record, a 2.11 goals against average, a .926 save percentage and three shutouts.
During a 6-2 road loss to the Kings on Jan. 12, Jarry made 39 saves on 45 shots.
Jarry has played in the second-most games among goaltenders in the NHL this season. Only Juuse Saros of the Nashville Predators has appeared in more (37).
Notes:
• The Kings are expected to start goaltender Cal Petersen. In 17 games this season, Petersen has a 10-6-1 record, a 2.65 goals against average, a .901 save percentage and one shutout.
Petersen — one of four natives of Iowa to ever play in the NHL — has appeared in one career game against the Penguins.
Making 35 saves on 36 shots, Petersen led the Kings to a 2-1 home win against the Penguins on Feb. 26, 2020.
• Kings defenseman Mikey Anderson will not be in the lineup Sunday. During a 4-3 overtime road loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, he left the game after being struck in the face by a puck during the first period.
Anderson scored the game-winning goal in the Jan. 13 meeting between the Penguins and Kings.
