Penguins to start Tristan Jarry against Canadiens
The Penguins will start goaltender Tristan Jarry for Friday’s game against against the Montreal Canadiens at PPG Paints Arena, according to coach Mike Sullivan.
In 27 games this season, Jarry has an 18-8-1 record along with a 2.18 goals against average, a .929 save percentage and three shutouts.
With nine games over the course of 16 days, the Penguins figure to continue to a platoon between Jarry and Matt Murray.
“Both guys have played really well for us,” Sullivan said. “We think it’s a strength of our team. We think it’s a competitive advantage when you get in these pockets of the schedule where the games are condensed. It’s nice to have two guys that are high-quality goaltenders like we have. And the same side of the coin, I think they’re both keeping each other at their best because there’s a healthy competition that pushes them to be at their best. It’s a great situation for our team. It’s a great situation for both goalies.”

• The Penguins did not stage a morning skate.
• The Canadiens are expected to start goaltender Carey Price. In 48 games this season, Price has a 24-20-4 record along with a 2.71 goals against average, a .913 save percentage and three shutouts.
