The Pittsburgh Penguins will turn to Tristan Jarry on Tuesday night vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning at PPG Paints Arena.

Coach Mike Sullivan revealed his starting netminder following the club’s morning skate in Cranberry.

Jarry is 1-2-0 with a 5.36 goals-against average and .847 save percentage this season.

He is set to make his second start since being recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, where he spent roughly two weeks on a conditioning stint.

While Jarry was sharp in the AHL, going 4-1 with a 2.16 goals-against average and .926 save percentage, his first NHL start in roughly a month post-recall Nov. 15 was subpar, as he allowed five goals on 38 shots to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Blueliner Kris Letang, who has missed the last two games because of illness, rejoined the team for its morning skate but will not play Tuesday night.

Forward Kevin Hayes, who remains on injured reserve with an undisclosed ailment and hasn’t played in two weeks, also partook in the skate.

Fellow forwards Blake Lizotte and Cody Glass, both of whom are sidelined with concussions, continue their rehabilitation.

Glass skated on his own Tuesday while Lizotte is limited to off-ice activities at the moment.

The full participants of Tuesday’s morning skate were:

Forwards: Jesse Puljujarvi, Hayes, Evgeni Malkin, Valtteri Puustinen, Sam Poulin, Vasily Ponomarev, Drew O’Connor

Defensemen: Ryan Shea, Jack St. Ivany, Owen Pickering, Letang, Ryan Graves

Goalies: Alex Nedeljkovic

Notes:

• Long after the morning skate wrapped, Graves and Puustinen remained on the ice with Letang and Hayes. That is likely an indication that both Graves and Puustinen will be healthy scratches vs. Tampa Bay. The two formed a reserve fourth defensive pairing during Monday’s full practice, another suggestion they won’t be suiting up vs. Tampa Bay.

• Per Lightning coach Jon Cooper, forward Brayden Point, who’s missed the last four games with an injury, will play Tuesday. Point ranks second on the Lightning in goals behind Nikita Kucherov with eight.

• Also per Cooper, Andrei Vasilevskiy is slated to start in net for the Lightning. Vasilevskiy is 8-5-1 with a 2.15 goals-against average and .920 save percentage through 14 games played. The two-time Stanley Cup champion (2019, 2020) won the Vezina Trophy in 2019 as the NHL’s top netminder.

• Tampa Bay’s lines and defensive pairings during its own morning skate were as follows:

59 Jake Guentzel - 21 Brayden Point - 86 Nikita Kucherov

38 Brandon Hagel - 71 Anthony Cirelli - 20 Nick Paul

93 Gage Goncalves - 14 Connor Geekie - 41 Michael Chaffee

28 Zemgus Girgensons - 11 Luke Glendening - 23 Michael Eyssimont

77 Victor Hedman - 90 J.J. Moser

27 Ryan McDonagh - 81 Erik Cernak

78 Emil Lilleberg - 43 Darren Raddysh

• Gonclaves was recalled from the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL Tuesday.

• Penguins captain Sidney Crosby enters Tuesday’s contest with 599 career goals, which ranks 21st in NHL history. Crosby trails only Mario Lemieux (690) for most career goals in a Penguins uniform.
