In 32 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins this season, forward Rem Pitlick had 24 points (eight goals, 16 assists).

The Pittsburgh Penguins traded forward Rem Pitlick to the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday in exchange for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.

Conditions of the transaction were not announced.

Pitlick, 26, has not played in any NHL games this season and is the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins’ leading scorer with 24 points (eight goals, 16 assists) in 32 games.

The Penguins acquired the left-handed Pitlick this past August as part of the blockbuster multi-player three-way trade with the Montreal Canadiens — his previous team — and the San Jose Sharks that brought All-Star defenseman Erik Karlsson to Pittsburgh.

Pitlick (5-foot-11, 202 pounds) is in the second year of a two-year contract that carries an average annual value of $1.1 million. Had his salary cap hit not been seven figures, Pitlick might have garnered a recall to the NHL roster when injuries depleted the Pittsburgh Penguins’ forward depth.

With Pitlick jettisoned, the Penguins now have 47 players signed to NHL contracts for the 2023-24 season, three short of the NHL’s limit of 50.

Follow the Penguins all season long.
