Penguins video coach Madison Nikkel named to United States Olympic staff
Pittsburgh Penguins video coach Madison Nikkel was named to the same role for the United States men’s Olympic team in February.
USA Hockey announced its full coaching and support staff via a release on Wednesday.
Nikkel has been a member of the Penguins organizations since 2016 when he started as video coach of the American Hockey League’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
He previously served as video coach for the United States during last season’s 4 Nations Face-Off exhibition tournament.
Nikkel will be reunited with former Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan, who is serving as the United States’ head coach. Sullivan left the Penguins in April before taking an identical role with the New York Rangers.
The men’s hockey tournament for Olympics are scheduled to be held in Milan between Feb. 11 and 22.
