This afternoon’s weather will determine if Penguins fans can enjoy Sunday’s Game 3 outdoors.
The KeyBank Big Screen will be in operation for all home playoff games at the corner of Centre Avenue and Logan Street, with activation beginning two hours before game time.
But with rough weather in the forecast for Sunday afternoon, Penguin officials said fans’ safety is the priority.
“In the event of severe weather – such as heavy rain, high winds or lightning – we would take down the screen until the weather passes,” officials said in a press release. “Fans would be advised to seek shelter. If the weather passes while the game is still going on, the screen would go back up and the viewing party would continue.”
The band Ferris Bueller’s Revenge will perform on the Canada Dry Stage. Fans can also test their skills at interactive games known as the “Penguins Combine” from the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, and face painters also will be available at no charge.
