Let the good news keep coming for Penn State.
Iowa State tight end transfer Gabe Burkle committed to the Nittany Lions on Sunday, he announced via social media.
The 6-foot-6, 255-pounder is the fourth transfer commitment for coach Matt Campbell. Burkle, who will be a redshirt senior in 2026, ranked as the No. 140 transfer and No. 10 tight end, according to 247Sports.
Fellow tight end Benjamin Brahmer, offensive lineman Will Tompkins and safety Marcus Neal have also committed to Penn State. All have followed Campbell as former Cyclones.
Burkle is best known as a blocker, which is an important part of new PSU offensive coordinator Taylor Mouser’s scheme. Though well behind Brahmer in receiving output, Burkle played more than half of Iowa State’s total offensive snaps in 2025, despite only appearing in nine games.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native had 302 receiving yards and one touchdown this season. For his career, he has 607 yards and two scores.
Burkle will pair nicely with Brahmer and returning Lion Andrew Rappleyea, as Mouser can get creative with many of the heavy personnel packages he likes.
