Penn State added the 22nd prospect to the nation’s No. 2 recruiting class Monday when Camron Miller, a cornerback from Jacksonville, Fla., pledged to enroll next year.

Miller (6-foot, 180 pounds) has several Power 5 offers, including from Notre Dame, Miami, Ole Miss, Virginia, West Virginia and Virginia Tech. He played quarterback last season at Fernandina Beach (Fla.) High School, rushing for 1,039 yards and throwing for 957, before transferring to Trinty Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Fla. He also intercepted three passes.

He is ranked the nation’s No. 22 cornerback, No. 147 overall and a four-star prospect by 247Sports. Rivals.com ranks him as the No. 45 athlete in the class of 2o22, No. 83 in Florida and a three-star. He also could play safety.

Andrew Ivins, 247Sports national analyst, compares Miller to Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joe Haden.

“Has a college-ready frame at 6-foot, 180 pounds,” Ivins wrote in his evaluation. “Should be able to eventually add some more mass.

“An accomplished athlete that has spent a majority of his prep career deployed as an option quarterback, but projects as a defensive back at the next level given his ability to mirror and change directions.”

Ivins added Miller has run a 4.5-second 40-yard dash.

Penn State’s ‘22 class includes 12 four-star prospects, according to Rivals’ rankings, plus five-star defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton of Owings Mill, Md. Dennis-Sutton committed to Penn State last Thursday. Penn State’s class is ranked second to Ohio State by Rivals and 247Sports.
