Penn State adds coveted 4-star quarterback to its 2026 recruiting class

The future of Penn State’s quarterback position just got brighter.

California quarterback Troy Huhn, a four-star prospect in the 2026 class, verbally committed to the Nittany Lions’ program on Tuesday morning, per Blue-White Illustrated.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Huhn, who was pursued by James Franklin, offensive assistant Danny O’Brien and offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, becomes the second player to join Penn State’s 2026 class.

Running back Messiah Mickens, a four-star 2026 prospect who will play at Harrisburg High School in the fall, gave a verbal commitment to the Lions last summer.

Franklin already has secured a verbal commitment from 2025 quarterback Bekkem Kritza, a three-star prospect from Miami. Kritza committed to Penn State last fall.

Franklin and his staff have been busy this month, and the Lions have added some intriguing prospects in the last eight days, with Huhn being the latest.
