Penn State added a second 2022 prospect from Lackawanna County Community College on Friday when offensive tackle J.B. Nelson, a Mt. Lebanon graduate, announced plans to enroll.

Nelson (6-foot-5, 320 pounds) is rated by 247Sports.com the No. 2 junior college prospect in the nation and the No. 2 offensive lineman. He joins Lackawanna teammate Tyrece Mills, a defensive back, in Penn State’s 13-man class.

Penn State’s class is ranked No. 8 in the nation by 247Sports and No. 9 by Rivals.com, and second in the Big Ten by both services.

Nelson holds offers from Ole Miss, West Virginia, N.C. State and Maryland. He is the third offensive lineman in Penn State’s 2022 class following verbal commitments from Maleek McNeil of Easthampton, Mass., and Drew Shelton, who plays at IMG Acadamy in Bradenton, Fla.
