Penn State lands commitment from 2025 4-star edge rusher Jayden Woods
James Franklin and Penn State’s coaching staff are on a recruiting heater, bolstering their 2025 class with yet another high-profile, four-star prospect.
Jayden Woods, a consensus four-star edge rusher from Mill Valley High School (Kan.), verbally committed to Penn State’s 2025 recruiting class Wednesday.
Woods, ranked as the No. 167 prospect overall by 247 Sports, is the second-highest rated prospect in Penn State’s 2025 class. Woods sits behind only Mater Dei (Calif.) cornerback Daryus Dixson (No. 96 overall in 247 Sports rankings).
Woods had offers from Alabama, Michigan, LSU and Oregon, among others. He picked Penn State out of his five finalists, which also included Tennessee, Florida, Wisconsin and Purdue.
Woods is the eighth commit Penn State has secured in the last 10 days. Last week, the Nittany Lions picked up six commits in the 2025 class: defensive backs Jahmir Joseph, Antonio Branch Jr. and Braswell Thomas; edge rusher Cortez Harris; and Imhotep running back Jabree Wallace-Coleman. On Monday, highly touted edge rusher Max Granville committed.
Penn State kept the momentum going Tuesday, landing 2026 four-star quarterback Troy Huhn. Huhn, the No. 6 QB in the class per on3 and a California native, was being pursued by Ohio State offensive coordinator (and former UCLA head coach) Chip Kelly.
