Penn State has scheduled three nonconference football games for the 2024 and ’26 seasons, all at Beaver Stadium.

The Nittany Lions will play Kent State on Sept. 21, 2024, face Marshall on Sept. 5, 2026, and meet San Jose State on Sept 19, 2026.

The Kent State game is rescheduled from the 2020 season, when all Penn State nonconference games were canceled during the pandemic. Penn State is 6-0 against Kent State. The Golden Flashes played only four games last season (3-1.).

The San Jose State game is also rescheduled from 2020. The teams have never met.

Marshall, coached by former Penn State running back Charles Huff, will make its third trip to University Park and its first since 1930. The Nittany Lions own 65-0 and 26-7 victories against the Thundering Herd.

Penn State’s nonconference opponents through 2026 include Ball State, Auburn and Villanova (2021); Ohio, Auburn and Central Michigan (2022); West Virginia, Delaware and UMass (2023); West Virginia, Bowling Green and Kent State (2024); Nevada and Villanova (2025); and Marshall, Temple and San Jose State (2026).

All games are at Beaver Stadium, with the exception of Auburn in 2022, West Virginia in 2024 and Temple in 2026. Penn State has one nonconference game to schedule in 2025.
