Penn State shortstop Jay Harry was chosen Monday by the Minnesota Twins in the sixth round (No. 177 overall) of the MLB Draft. He is the 78th Penn State player chosen, 13th since 2016 and 16th all-time in the top 10 rounds.

Harry played in 146 games for the Nittany Lions, with 145 starts. He batted .304 with 169 hits, including 33 doubles, three triples, 12 homers, 81 RBI and 109 runs. He recorded 11 stolen bases and 402 career assists.

As a junior this season, he hit .299 with 60 hits, 13 doubles, a triple, six homers, 37 RBI and 47 runs — with only 21 strikeouts. He ranked as the third-toughest player to strikeout in the Big Ten, averaging a strikeout every 9.6 at-bats.

In 2022, Harry tied a Big Ten record with six hits against Michigan State.
