Penn State coach James Franklin talks to defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton during the second quarter of the NCAA college football team’s Blue-White spring game Saturday, April 15, 2023, in State College, Pa.

Penn State’s final game of the regular season will be played Nov. 24 — Black Friday — against Michigan State at Ford Field in Detroit, the schools announced Wednesday.

The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and will be telecast on NBC as part of the Big Ten’s new contract with the network. It also will stream on Peacock.

Michigan State athletic director Alan Haller called the switch from Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Mich., to Detroit “a unique opportunity” for the team and its fans.

“Southeast Michigan is home to 100,000 alums, nearly 50% of our student body and countless more Spartan fans,” he said, according to the Detroit Free Press. “Our men’s basketball team has experienced tremendous support in Detroit, both at Ford Field and Little Caesars Arena, and we’re excited to bring Spartan football to our fans in the Motor City.

“The city is important to our mission not only as an athletic department, but our entire university. We anticipate that the experience will be so much more than a football game for our Spartan faithful.”

Kickoff times and TV networks also have been announced for two other Penn State games — 7:30 p.m. Sept. 2 against West Virginia on NBC and 8 p.m. Sept. 23 against Iowa on CBS. Both games will be at Beaver Stadium.
