According to a source, the Pirates and Andrew McCutchen have agreed to a one-year contract, pending a physical.

The veteran outfielder was an MVP and five-time All-Star with the Pirates.

McCutchen hit .291 with 203 home runs and 725 RBIs over nine season with the Pirates. He played the past five seasons with the Giants, Yankees, Phillies and Brewers.

When he was traded to the San Francisco Giants in January 2018, he wrote in the Players’ Tribune “Pittsburgh … it’s home. It will always be home.”
