Average was .382 over the season’s final 17 games. … Previously drafted by the New York Yankees in the 25th round in 2019 when he was at John A. Logan Junior College in Illinois. Was a second-team junior college All-America in 2019. … Played for Western Kentucky in 2018 when he was all-Conference USA and a freshman All-American.
