The Pittsburgh Pirates announced a handful of roster moves Friday afternoon ahead of their series-opening game on the road at Minnesota.
Infielder Ji Hwan Bae was activated from the 10-day injured list following the completion of a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis, and fellow infielder Jared Triolo was optioned to the Indians.
Additionally, righty reliever Dauri Moreta is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with the Indians on Friday night.
The 24-year-old Bae, as a result of a left ankle sprain, has not played in the majors since July 1.
With the Pirates, he was hitting .238 with two home runs and 19 RBIs through 76 games while leading the club in steals (20).
His rehab assignment with the Indians lasted nine games, over which Bae, who is leading off Friday night against the Twins, batted .344.
Triolo, 25, made his MLB debut with the Pirates on June 28.
In 36 games, he slashed .273/.350/.314 with a home run and 16 RBIs while making 30 starts at third base.
Moreta landed on the injured list Aug. 4 with low back inflammation.
On the year, he is 4-2 with a 4.10 ERA and 63 strikeouts through 48 1/3 innings.
