Pirates farm report for April 11, 2023: Jacob Gonzalez, Matt Fraizer lead Altoona to 1st win
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 5-5) had its five-game winning streak snapped by St. Paul (Twins), 10-6, in 12 innings. LF Tucupita Marcano (.455) was 1 for 5 with a walk and two strikeouts. RF Cal Mitchell (.200) was 3 for 5 with three RBIs. CF Travis Swaggerty (.275) was 1 for 5 with an RBI and LF Miguel Andujar (.189) went 2 for 4 with an RBI double. C Endy Rodriguez (.219) was 0 for 5 with two strikeouts. RHP John O’Reilly (0-1, 6.38) picked up the loss, throwing two innings and allowing six runs (four earned), five hits and one walk with three strikeouts. RHP Osvaldo Bido (.129) started and went four innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out three.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 1-3) beat Erie (Tigers), 9-1, for its first win of the year. 1B Matt Gorski (.231) went 1 for 1 with a double and 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.143) came in for Gorski in the second and finished 1 for 3 with a three-run homer. RF Matt Fraizer (.364) went 3 for 4 with a double and a solo home run. 2B Domingo Leyba (.333) hit a two-run home run and finished 2 for 4. RHP Aaron Shortridge (1-0, 7.94) went five innings and allowed one run on three hits with no walks and six strikeouts to pick up his first win of the year.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 3-1) outslugged Jersey Shore (Phillies), 13-9. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.286) went 3 for 6 with a triple and his first home run, a two-run shot. RF Jase Bowen (.412) went 2 for 5 with a double and four RBIs. C Abrahan Gutierrez (.333) went 2 for 4 with two doubles. LF Sammy Sianni (.300) was 2 for 3. RHP Valentin Linarez (0.00) started and pitched four scoreless innings, allowing two hits. RHP Santiago Florez (1-0, 6.75) allowed one unearned run in an inning to pick up the win. LHP Cy Nielson (0.00) got the final two outs for his first save.
