Pirates farm report for April 12, 2024: Another scoreless outing for Paul Skenes with Indy
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 6-6) lost 4-3 in 11 innings to Toledo (Tigers) as RHP Paul Skenes made his third Triple-A start. Skenes (0.00) pitched 3⅓ scoreless innings, allowing three hits, all singles, and a walk with eight strikeouts. He has 19 strikeouts in 9⅓ innings with Indy. RHP Ryder Ryan (9.00) gave up a solo home run to Bligh Madris in the sixth and RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (9.00) allowed a two-run homer in the seventh. RHP Brent Honeywell (0-1, 5.14) took the loss when he allowed the automatic runner to score in the 11th, but he gave up no hits and no earned runs in 1⅔ innings. 3B Sergio Alcantara (.208) went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. CF Ji Hwan Bae (.571) went 2 for 3 with a walk. Indy baserunners went 0 for 4 on stolen-base attempts.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 3-2) and Harrisburg (Nationals) were rained out for the second straight day. A make-up date was not announced.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 4-3) won 10-0 in the completion of a game suspended by rain Thursday night and lost 2-0 in its regularly scheduled game at Winston-Salem (White-Sox).
In the suspended game, CF Lonnie White Jr. (360) went 3 for 5 with his fourth homer and his first stolen base. LHP Hunter Barco (0.00) started and threw four innings, giving up two hits and striking out four. RHP Jack Carey (1-0. 3.86) allowed one hit in three innings, fanning three, to earn the win. RHP Emmanuel Chapman (0.00) worked two scoreless, giving up two hits and whiffing two.
In the regularly scheduled game, four Winston-Salem pitchers took a no-hitter into the seventh before RF Sammy Siani (.231) broke it up with a one-out single. RHP Patrick Reilly (0-1, 4.91) gave up two runs on three hits with six strikeouts to take the loss. LHP Luis Peralta (0.00) pitched two scoreless innings of relief, allowing no hits and striking out five.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 1-6) lost 7-6 to Lakeland (Tigers) in 10 innings. Three Marauders hit their first homers of the season: 1B Omar Alfonzo (.286), CF Shalin Polanco (.185) and RF Esmerlyn Valdez (.292). All three were two-run shots. Alfonzo went 1 for 5 with two runs scored. Polanco was 1 for 4 with a walk. Valdez was 1 for 5. RHP Carlson Reed (2.57) started and gave up two runs on three hits and four walks in three innings. He struck out four. RHP Mike Walsh (3.00) pitched a scoreless fourth. RHP Fineas Del Bonta-Smith worked 1⅔ scoreless and LHP Hunter Furtado did not allow a run in 1⅓ innings. Neither allowed a hit. RHP Garrett McMillan (0-1, 13.50) let the automatic runner score to take the loss.
