Pirates farm report for April 16, 2023: Malcom Nunez's grand slam helps Indy blank St. Paul

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 7-8) won its second straight game with a 7-0 victory over St. Paul (Twins). C Tyler Heineman (.400) smacked a three-run homer in the fourth innings, and 1B Malcom Nunez (.217) hit a grand slam in the seventh inning. LF Cal Mitchell (.195) was 2 for 3. 2B Aaron Shackelford (.125) doubled. RHP Osvaldo Bido (1-0, 0.75) tossed five innings of relief, allowing two hits with four walks and nine strikeouts, to earn the win. RHP Hunter Stratton started and allowed two hits with two walks and five strikeouts in two innings.

Next: Tuesday at Memphis (Cardinals), 7:45 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 3-6) lost 7-3 to Erie (Tigers). 2B Domingo Leyba (.308), RF Henry Davis (.226) and LF Josh Palacios (.296) all had two hits. Leyba and Davis each hit solo homers. DH Matt Fraizer (.313) doubled. RHP Aaron Shortridge (1-1, 8.00) allowed four runs (3 earned) on six hits with three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings and took the loss.

Next: Tuesday vs. Bowie (Orioles), 6 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 7-2) earned a 5-2 win over Jersey Shore (Phillies). 2B Tsung-Che Cheng (.300) was 2 for 5 with two RBIs. 3B Jackson Glenn (.227) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. LF Luke Brown (.133) had an RBI double. 1B Ernny Ordonez (.250) also knocked in a run. RHP Michell Miliano (1-0, 0.00) allowed three hits and struck out five in 2 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win. RHP Valentin Linarez (2.35) started and gave up two runs on seven hits with two walks and a strikeout in 3 2/3 innings.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 5-4) beat Lakeland (Tigers), 7-3. CF Tres Gonzalez (.333) was 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs. 3B Jesus Castillo (.414) was 2 for 4 with an RBI double. 2B Rayber Romero (.214) tripled in a run. RHP Brad Case (1-0, 3.00) allowed one hit with two strikeouts in two innings of relief to earn the win. RHP J.P. Massey (6.75) started and gave up six hits and three runs with two walks and six strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
