Pirates farm report for April 16, 2025: David Bednar throws 5th straight scoreless inning for Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 6-8) walked off Toledo (Tigers), 5-4, in 12 innings. C Shawn Ross (.400) roped the game-winning single to score Alika Williams and finished 2 for 5. RHP David Bednar (0.00) struck out two in an inning of work. It was his fifth straight scoreless appearance since being sent to Triple-A. He has allowed one hit, walked none and struck out seven in five innings. CF Billy Cook (.227) went 2 for 4 with an RBI double, a single and a walk. 3B Malcolm Nunez (.286) was 2 for 5 with a pair of RBI doubles and 2B Nick Solak (.300) was 1 for 3 with a sac fly. RHP Carson Fulmer started and threw 5⅔ shutout innings, giving up three walks and striking out three. RHP Ryder Ryan (4.26) gave up a run on three hits and fanned three in an inning, and RHP Isaac Mattson (3.18) also gave up a run in 1⅓ innings on one hit and struck out two. RHP Peter Strzelecki (1-2, 15.00) threw three innings, allowed two unearned runs and struck out four for the win. SS Liover Peguero (.300) was 0 for 5 with a strikeout and DH Nick Yorke (.194) went 0 for 4 with two strikeouts and a walk.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 4-7) routed Somerset (Yankees), 10-1. SS Jack Brannigan (.235) went 3 for 4 with a three-run home run, an RBI single and a double. RF Jase Bowen (.226) was 1 for 4 with a two-run dinger. 2B Mitch Jebb (.161) was 2 for 3 with two singles, two walks and an RBI. 1B Nick Cimillo (.265) was 2 for 5 with a sac fly, a double and a single. Starting pitcher LHP Hunter Barco (1-0, 0.00) picked up a win by striking out six and allowing one hit in five shutout innings. RHP Valentin Linarez (5.40) tossed two shutout innings, allowed no hits, and fanned two while LHP Cy Nielson (6.00) yielded one run on two hits and struck out four. CF Sammy Siani (.154) went 2 for 5 with a pair of singles and an RBI and 3B Mike Jarvis (.200) was 1 for 5 with an RBI single.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 8-3) shut out Jersey Shore (Phillies), 4-0. RHP Antwone Kelly (0.82) started and went four scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four. RHP Jack Carey (1-0, 3.86) gave up one hit and struck out one in an inning of relief for the win. CF Shalin Polanco (.240) was 2 for 4 with a two-run homer and a double. 2B Keiner Delgado (.325) went 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI. SS Javier Rivas (.350) was 2 for 4 with two singles and an RBI. RF Lonnie White (.222) was 0 for 2 with a pair of walks.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 3-8) was held to one hit and struck out 19 times in a 1-0 loss to Fort Myers (Twins). SS Yordany De Los Santos (.263) had the hit, a single, going 1 for 3 with a stolen base. DK Konnor Griffin (.231) went 0 for 4 with three strikeouts. RF Andrew Patrick (.050) and 2B Carlos Caro (.194) each went 0 for 3 with three Ks. RHP Clevari Tejada (0-2, 7.27) started and was the hard-luck loser, allowing one run on four hits in four innings. He walked one and struck out five. LHP Isaias Uribe (10.38), RHP Noah Takacs (4.50) and RHP Brennan Malone (13.50) combined to throw four innings of no-hit relief.
