Pirates farm report for April 19, 2023: Malcom Nunez homers in Indianapolis loss
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 7-10) dropped its second straight with a 12-7 loss to Memphis (Cardinals). 1B Malcom Nuñez (.222) went 2 for 5 with a solo home run and a two-run single. C Tyler Heineman (.444) was 2 for 4 with a triple, double and two RBIs. 3B Nick Gonzales (.283) had two singles and a walk and DH Endy Rodriguez went 0 for 4 with two fly outs and a hit by pitch. Starter LHP Kent Emanuel (0-1, 17.36) was battered in 1⅔ innings, allowing nine runs on seven hits, one walk and two home runs and struck out three. RHP J.C. Flowers (4.50) came on in relief and threw 3⅓ innings, allowing two runs on two hits, including one home run, and struck out six. RHP Hunter Stratton (3.24) went one inning, allowed no runs and no hits and struck out three.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 4-7) lost 9-3 to Bowie (Orioles). 3B Andrés Alvarez (.158) was 1 for 3 with a sacrifice fly and an RBI single. CF Matt Gorski (.214) went 1 for 3 with a double and scored twice. DH Henry Davis was 0 for 3 with two strikeouts and SS Liover Peguero (.189) went 0 for 4 with two strikeouts. RHP Justin Meis (0-2, 7.15) started and allowed four runs on five hits, three walks and two home runs in 4⅓ innings. RHP Oliver Garcia (5.40) went two-thirds of an inning and allowed three runs on one hit, walking two and fanning one.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 8-3) won a 3-2 decision over Greenville (Reds). C Eli Wilson (.188) smashed a three-run home run in the fifth. 3B Jackson Glenn (.280) went 2 for 3 with two singles. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.256) went 0 for 4 with two groundouts, a fly out and a line out. Starter LHP Anthony Solometo (5.25) threw 4⅓ innings and allowed two runs on five hits, two walks and one home run and struck out eight. LHP Mitchell Miller (1-1, 9.00) pitched 1⅔ innings in relief for the win, allowing one hit and striking out four. LHP Cy Nielson (0.00) went one inning and allowed one hit and struck out two for his second save of the year.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 7-4) walked off Daytona (Reds), 6-5, for their fifth straight win. SS Jesus Castillo (.324) and DH Shalin Polanco (.235) were the last of four consecutive walks the Marauders used in the bottom of the 11th to seal a victory. C Geovanny Planchart (.143) went 1 for 4 with a two-run single. CF Tres Gonzalez (.353) went 2 for 3 with two walks and two singles. RHP Darvin Garcia (1-0, 0.00) was brought in to pitch in the 10th and allowed two runs (none earned) on one hit and struck out one in two innings for the win. RHP Wilber Dotel (6.43) started and went 3⅔ innings and gave up three runs (two earned) on two hits, four walks and three strike outs.
