Pirates farm report for April 27, 2024: Charles McAdoo homers in Greensboro loss

ALTOONA (Double-A, 5-14) gave up a run in the eighth and another in the ninth to lose 5-4 to Akron (Guardians). RHP Eddy Yean (1-1, 2.92) gave up two runs on four hits and two walks in two innings to take the loss. RHP Po-Yu Chen (7.98) started and allowed two runs on two hits and three walks in 4 ⅔ innings. He struck out three. RF Jase Bowen (.188) went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI. LF Aaron Shackelford (.238) went 2 for 4 with an RBI. 3B Kervin Pichardo (.260) was 2 for 3 with a walk. 1B Abrahan Gutierrez (.300) went 1 for 2 with a double and a run scored. 2B Tsung-Che Cheng (.161) went 0 for 5 with three strikeouts.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 11-8) blew a 5-2 lead and lost 6-5 to Greenville (Red Sox). LHP Julian Bosnic (0-1, 3.00) recorded out one and gave up two runs on one hit and two walks to take the loss. RHP Wilber Dotel (1.17) started and went five innings, giving up two solo home runs, five total hits and a walk. He fanned six. 3B Charles McAdoo (.270) went 1 for 4 with a three-run homer, his second. LF Sammy Siani (.319) went 2 for 5 with a run scored and an RBI. DH Mitch Jebb (.229) went 2 for 3 with a run scored. SS Termarr Johnson (.172) went 0 for 3 with two walks and three strikeouts.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 4-16) scored one in the top of the 10th but allowed two in the bottom of the inning to lose 3-2 to Clearwater (Phillies). RHP Garrett McMillan (0-2, 5.19) recorded one out and allowed two hits and two runs to take the loss. LHP Michael Kennedy (3.71) started and worked five innings, allowing one run on four hits and no walks with six strikeouts. LHP Hunter Furtado (8.38) and LHP Magdiel Cotto (3.21) each pitched two scoreless innings of relief. The Marauders managed four hits. 1B Esmerlyn Valdez (.250) went 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI. DH Omar Alfonzo (.286) went 1 for 4 with a double and a run scored. LF Solomon Maguire (.154) went 1 for 3.
