INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 3-3) beat Memphis (Cardinals ), 8-3, in Paul Skenes’ second Triple-A start. Skenes (0.00) allowed one hit – a single to 1B Luken Baker to lead off the second – and one walk while striking out six in three scoreless innings. LHP Eric Lauer (1-0, 4.05) followed and pitched four scoreless with four strikeouts in four innings, allowing one hit. RHP Colin Holderman (10.13), pitching on a rehab assignment after an illness, threw a scoreless eighth. LHP Joe Hernandez was touched up for three runs on three hits in the ninth. Liover Peguero (.379) went 5 for 5 with a double and three RBIs. DH Jake Lamb (.450) went 2 for 5 with his second homer.

Next: vs. Memphis (Cardinals), doubleheader, 5:05 p.m. Saturday

ALTOONA (Double-A, 1-0) beat Akron (Guardians), 4-3, in 10 innings in the season opener. RF Matt Fraizer (.667) hit the go-ahead RBI single in the 10th. He also doubled. 3B Jackson Glenn (.667) went 2 for 3 with an RBI. RHP Bubba Chandler (5.40) started and allowed two runs on four hits in 3 1/3 innings. He struck out four and walked none. RHP Justin Meis (0.00) pitched three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and fanning three. RHP Isaac Mattson (1-0, 0.00) pitched a scoreless ninth and 10th to earn the win.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 0-1) lost 5-3 in 10 innings to Greenville (Red Sox) in its season opener. DH Charles McAdoo (1.000) went 2 for 2 with a walk. SS Mitche Jebb (.250) went 1 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. 3B Jack Brannigan (.333) went 1 for 3 with two walks and a run scored. 2B Termarr Johnson (.200) went 1 for 5 with a run and a strikeout. LHP Hunter Barco (0.00) started and pitched three scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out six. RHP Darvin Garcia (0-1, 9.00) gave up two runs, one earned, on three hits in the 10th to take the loss.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 0-1) lost 5-2 to Clearwater (Phillies) in the season opener. CF Shalin Polanco (.400) went 2 for 5 with a double. RHP Carlson Reed (0.00) started and pitched four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks with six strikeouts. RHP Camen Mlodzinski (9.00), pitching on a rehab assignment (elbow), gave up a run on two hits with three strikeouts in one inning of work. RHP Antwone Kelly (0-1, 10.43) gave up three runs on three hits in 2 2/3 innings to take the loss.
